VABION LLC's (VABION) online community for athletes, ThinkFastMoveFaster.com, is featuring marathon runner Everett Hill as its Featured Athlete of the Week. A former Army Brat who currently lives in Sandy Springs, Georgia, Everett has overcome some rather large obstacles in order to pursue his love for running marathons.

On August 14, 2003, more than 50 million people in the Northeast sat in the dark during the most widespread power outage in U.S. history. But Everett was experiencing his own personal blackout of sorts. He had just undergone open heart surgery and was on life support at a hospital running on generator power.

Everett was only three years old when it was discovered his heart had a leaky valve. Clearly audible with a stethoscope, his cardiologist eventually discovered he would have to have it surgically replaced by the time he was in his middle ages.

As Everett recovered from his ordeal, he found it nearly impossible to walk more than a couple feet at a time. It was discovered that he had almost no blood pressure. Corrective actions were taken and he soon began walking longer distances. His walking became jogging, jogging became running and a few years later, Everett began running marathons.

VABION's community website for amateur athletes of all sports,http://www.ThinkFastMoveFaster.com selects featured athletes based on their commitment to fitness, their sport, and positive character qualities.

Dr. Susan Hardwicke, chief executive of VABION, says, "Everett's story of overcoming an extreme physical challenge and running 26 miles is an inspiration to other athletes and we're proud to feature him as our Athlete of the Week."
