Sad - but true to say, we are in the dog days of summer, but as runners nothing can prevent us from running outside in the heat and breathing in that "canal" (Gotta love running through downtown Richmond, VA) - I mean fresh air.
I kept reading articles on the fear of running and answering questions via Yahoo answers about stamina and speed. I got to thinking if I was asked the question - to suggest "five tips" on running, I'd most likely say:
- Remember to wear the right apparel (cotton is the devil)
- Stay energized and focused (Diesel Stix are the best!)
- Run with a buddy or stick with your iPod for those long runs
- Always stay hydrated! (very importante!)
- Running is fun!
I've been inspired a lot this week and actually since I've released this website. While engaging in conversations via online thanks to Twitter, Yahoo Answers, Map My Run, Cool Running and offline participating in running groups and races. You all keep me running and keeping my fitness up to standards! Running is more than just a sport - it's a lifestyle, really.
