I've been struggling a bit lately to stay on task not only with my training, but specifically with my diet. Starting a new job where I really haven't had a chance to get things organized and settled in has hindered my "normal" work routine, so I haven't taken in any of the snack I keep on hand. Consequently, I've fallen to the eating out trap and made poor choices.
My BFF, who lives in VA, has been wonderful. I've mentioned her in other posts...we have a private blog where we can keep tabs on each other. Well, she's noticed this trend and has called me to task. She even outlined her whole weekend menu to give some ideas on how to circumvent challenging schedules/situations. (This was a weekend where she took the kids to see the grandparents.)
I love her for her honestly, and am grateful for same. Without it, it would take me longer to work through this little challenge...and I probably wouldn't do so very succinctly - which would only be a detriment to myself.
The point of this message?
Find a friend with whom you can be completely honest. Don't hide anything. Make sure that friend is willing to be your "coach". It will be one of your best investments as you train and work to improve yourself. For me, its also made us that much closer to each other!
